Soviet Militaria

Soviet Militaria - Australian cedar smoking tray taken from HMAS Sydney. In 1914, Sydney was attacked by the German cruiser SMS Emden and eventually arrived at Cockatoo Island Dockyard, New South Wales (Sydney), where she was broken up. Many parts of Sydney have made souvenirs like this stall.

See the image below attached to the tripod base. The stand is heavily weighted (originally made) for added stability, so it's quite heavy and no postage/shipping costs. Collection only in store. Height (with brass holder on top) 82.5 cm.

The album contains 428 black-and-white images on a wide variety of subjects, almost all of which are hand-labeled. Images include the Suez Canal, Port Said, Jerusalem and especially Beersheba. Also lots of random pictures of diggers with their frames and equipment, plus camels, cavalry, tanks, planes, ships, pyramids, General Chauvel, war graves, etc.

etc. There is a problem with the spine, one page is detached and some of the pictures are slightly faded. But this album is in relatively good condition and an important historical find. (Six more random images below...) 36.5cm x 25.7cm.

WW1 British War Medal and full size Victory Medal Group to Sapper G. Price, Royal Engineers. Spr Price, Sheffield iron and steel designer, enlisted on 12th October 1916 aged 20. He was discharged from Depot Company G, Royal Engineers, Chatham on 8 October 1919 due to his wounds and was awarded the Silver War Badge.

(A silver war badge was awarded to those who were honorably discharged due to injury or illness.) The medals are in good condition, but the original ribbons are faded and apparently have holes from attachment and wear.
